State Garden Show Ellwangen 2026 | Tickets & Program

The State Garden Show Ellwangen 2026 is much more than a classic garden show: it is an urban development project that connects the Jagst, the city center, and new open spaces. The city was awarded the contract in 2018; in 2020, the State Garden Show Ellwangen 2026 GmbH was founded. The exhibition period from April 24 to October 4, 2026, is planned for 164 days, on around 26 hectares of redesigned Jagstaue. Under the guiding principle of joy in change, a place is being created where nature, leisure, culture, and future topics come together. Particularly interesting is the location in the middle of Ellwangen: The site is close to the city center, the train station is within walking distance, and several areas have been designed so that the tour leads from the river into the city. Program, Events, and Themed Days

Those looking for the program of the State Garden Show Ellwangen 2026 will find not only individual dates but also a very broad event profile. The official calendar shows that the garden show will be used as a stage for music, talk formats, dance, sports, education, environment, religion, and participatory offerings. It becomes clear at first glance: This is not about a rigid trade fair format, but about a lively summer with constantly changing impulses. In addition to classic exhibition elements, cultural contributions, special actions, and thematic days are at the center. This mix makes the site exciting for different target groups, from spontaneous day visitors to families, from travel groups to regular visitors. The event structure is designed so that each visit offers new content and the site feels different throughout the season. ([ellwangen2026.de](https://www.ellwangen2026.de/oeffnungszeiten/))

A central SEO topic around the program is the themed days. The State Garden Show works with the guiding question of how we want to live and assigns the exhibition period into sections on topics such as nature, resources, nutrition, digitalization, education, mobility, housing, energy, culture, democracy, engagement, and future design. This is not only strong in content but also attractive for visitors looking for specific focal points. So, those who want to know when which content is particularly in focus will find a clear structure on the official page. This way, the State Garden Show is perceived not only as a beautiful park but also as a place for social questions, exchange, and inspiration. This mix of experience and content depth is one of the strongest features of the entire concept. ([ellwangen2026.de](https://www.ellwangen2026.de/unsere-lgs/durchfuehrungsplanung-lust-am-wandel/?utm_source=openai))

Individual program points also demonstrate the range very well. The site will feature formats such as SWR Talk in the Park, a Sundowner DJ set, Dance Day, Fitness Night, Inclusion Sports Day, and Rule of Law in Schools. In addition, there will be further events from the areas of music, nature, science, and participatory culture. Particularly noteworthy is the Green Classroom, which enables learning outdoors with more than 50 courses and introduces students to nature and future topics. Thus, a visit quickly becomes a whole day full of impressions. This is precisely why the search interest in programs, events, and concerts is so high: The State Garden Show Ellwangen 2026 is not just an exhibition site but a continuous summer festival with educational and cultural added value. ([ellwangen2026.de](https://www.ellwangen2026.de/oeffnungszeiten/))

Tickets, Prices, and Pre-Sale

For tickets, the State Garden Show Ellwangen 2026 relies on a clear, well-structured system. The day ticket costs 24.90 euros, reduced 19.90 euros. For two consecutive days, there is a two-day ticket for 32.90 euros. Groups of 20 or more pay 22.90 euros per person. Children and teenagers up to and including 17 years have free admission. For many visitors, it is also important that the day tickets include public transport use. So, those arriving by train or bus can use the ticket as a convenient entry and local transport solution. This combination of admission and mobility is particularly attractive for a day trip, especially at a site that has been consciously integrated into the city and the Jagst. ([ellwangen2026.de](https://www.ellwangen2026.de/besuch/eintrittspreise/))

The season ticket is also clearly structured and available for pre-sale early. In the stationary pre-sale from September 7 to October 3, it costs 119 euros, reduced 89 euros. In the extended pre-sale from October 4 to February 15, it is priced at 129 euros, reduced 97 euros. From February 16, the regular price of 149 euros applies, reduced 126 euros. Unlike day tickets, the season ticket does not include public transport use. Tickets are sold online as well as in pre-sale locations in Ellwangen and Aalen; in Heidenheim, there are day and two-day tickets. Those who plan early benefit not only financially but also organizationally. The ticketing is thus designed for recurring visits, family outings, and flexible summer planning. ([ellwangen2026.de](https://www.ellwangen2026.de/besuch/eintrittspreise/))

Opening Hours, Start, and Daily Visits

The opening hours are particularly important for visit planning and are clearly communicated. The State Garden Show Ellwangen 2026 is open daily from April 24 to October 4, 2026, seven days a week. Regular daily operations run from 9:00 AM until dusk; ticket sales close at 6:00 PM. The closing time is set for 8:00 PM. Those arriving in the evening should note the extended times for events, as some entrances remain open longer then. This creates a flexible daily rhythm that accommodates early visitors, families, and evening guests alike. This clear timing is particularly helpful for those who want to plan their arrival by train, shuttle, or parking accurately. ([ellwangen2026.de](https://www.ellwangen2026.de/oeffnungszeiten/))

Practical details also include that the flower hall, Garden Futures, and GAIA are open until 7:00 PM, while the Protestant city church remains open on Fridays and Saturdays until 10:00 PM during the GAIA exhibition. For evening events, the entrances at Brückenpark and Stadthalle are even accessible until one hour after the event starts. This makes the visit particularly adaptable, as exhibitions, walks, and program points can be combined. For SEO research, terms like opening hours, start, and evening events are relevant. They reflect that the State Garden Show Ellwangen 2026 is not only operational during the day but also intended as an evening venue with extended experience character. ([ellwangen2026.de](https://www.ellwangen2026.de/oeffnungszeiten/))

Access, Parking, and Barrier-Free Access

Arriving by car is straightforward but consciously organized centrally. Ellwangen is conveniently located on the A7; additionally, the B29 and B290 lead into the city. For visitors, there are parking spaces in Neunheim, from where a shuttle bus goes directly to the vicinity of the site. The day ticket for this parking costs 6 euros and includes the round trip with the shuttle. All passengers in the vehicle can use the shuttle for free. Additionally, there is the island parking lot with designated spaces for people with disabilities and other paid parking options near the site, such as at the expert Schlagenhauf parking lot. This covers the topic of parking very broadly and practically. ([ellwangen2026.de](https://www.ellwangen2026.de/besuch/anreise-parken/?utm_source=openai))

Train, bicycle, and bus groups are also explicitly considered. The Ellwangen train station is only a few minutes' walk from the main entrance and is accessible via the IC connection Karlsruhe–Stuttgart–Nuremberg–Leipzig as well as the MEX13 connection Stuttgart–Aalen–Crailsheim. Those who want to get off earlier can also use Schrezheim; there is also an access point and a ticket area. For bicycles, there are parking spaces directly at the main entrance and additional parking options at Schrezheim and at the train station, where even bicycle boxes are available. Bus travel groups benefit from their own parking lot, good signage, close proximity to the entrance, and barrier-free access. For people with mobility impairments, wheelchairs, walkers, and carts are available. This shows that the State Garden Show is not only well-prepared in terms of content but also logistically for different visitor groups. ([ellwangen2026.de](https://www.ellwangen2026.de/besuch/anreise-parken/?utm_source=openai))

Site Plan, Brückenpark, and City Center

The site plan of the State Garden Show Ellwangen 2026 is closely linked to the cityscape and thus differs from many classic outdoor sites. The area covers around 26 hectares and is traversed by the Jagst. The concept connects the river area with the city center, train station proximity, and newly designed park areas. Historically important is that the state government awarded the contract in 2018, and the urban development vision emerged from Auenpark, Brückenpark, and the city center. The State Garden Show is thus not only an event space but a long-term urban development project that permanently strengthens new paths along the river, quality of stay, and nature experiences. ([ellwangen2026.de](https://www.ellwangen2026.de/besuch/bus-und-gruppenreisen/?utm_source=openai))

Particularly defining is the Brückenpark. Here, city and river meet directly. With expanded banks, play and recreation areas, city beach, water play, beach volleyball court, seating options, and Jagst promenade, an area is created that combines local recreation and movement. New paths and a bridge structure strengthen the connection between Brückenpark and Schießwasen. This is complemented by the city park, where the Schießwasen remains a site for large events but will be designed greener and more atmospheric. This part of the facility is important for concerts, large gatherings, and events that rely on openness and good accessibility. Thus, a site is created that is suitable for both quiet walks and larger event moments. ([ellwangen2026.de](https://www.ellwangen2026.de/projekt/jagstpark/))

In the city center, the flower hall sets another focus. It is located in the forecourts of the Protestant city church and the Catholic basilica and is described as an anchor point in the city center. In addition, there are exhibition and flower themes that change throughout the season and showcase new floral highlights every two weeks. This is also interesting for search queries like plan, photos, or events, as visitors want to know where which area is located and what changes there. The tour thus connects water, city greenery, and historical architecture in a compact space. It is precisely this mix of nature, culture, and urban proximity that characterizes the special character of the State Garden Show Ellwangen 2026. ([ellwangen2026.de](https://www.ellwangen2026.de/unsere-lgs/die-daueranlagen/))

Dogs, Family Offers, and Practical Notes

For practical visit planning, some clear rules are important. Dogs are not allowed at the State Garden Show Ellwangen 2026; only assistance dogs with proof are welcome. The decision is justified by the high number of visitors, concert volume, and overall quality of stay. At the same time, the site is designed for families, school classes, and groups. Children and teenagers up to and including 17 years have free admission, and the program includes numerous offers aimed at various age groups. Those coming with children will find a mix of movement, nature, dance, participatory formats, and exhibition contributions in the calendar. This makes the State Garden Show a destination that is suitable not only for garden enthusiasts but also for family outings and multi-generational visits. ([ellwangen2026.de](https://www.ellwangen2026.de/))

Another added value is the Green Classroom. There, nature becomes a learning space, and students can book courses since March 3, 2026. The offerings go far beyond classic gardening topics and also cover horticulture, agriculture, nutrition, animal encounters, and future questions. In addition, there are official guided tours and group offers that structure the visit and open up additional perspectives. Those who plan the State Garden Show not only spontaneously but consciously can thus build the day along themes, paths, and time windows. The souvenir and service offerings, the official FAQ, and the good accessibility by train, shuttle, and bicycle also speak for a relaxed visit planning. Thus, a garden show day becomes a versatile experience with clear orientation and strong potential for repeat visits. Nothing to do with garden or flowers or plants. Was really, really disappointed with the long boring walk to see nothing...

8 km garden show, the valley has been upgraded. Lots of historical information, I like that. The attention to detail with the red shoes, the drinking fountains are great in over 30° degrees. The pianist in the farmer's garden, I could have listened to that for a long time.

Great place, very idyllic in the woods, just a few steps from Langenwaldsee. Right by a small and shallow stream (ideal for kids to splash around). Small self-service restaurant with good value for money. Relatively new-looking and very clean sanitary area. Small shop with daily fresh rolls and a small selection. The family running it is super nice, very helpful, friendly, and informative. We had a wonderfully beautiful and relaxing weekend. We will definitely come back. We were at the garden show and there’s a bus right at the campsite. Public transport is free with the guest card.
