On Tuesday, November 17, 2026, the Bürgerspital meeting place in Aalen invites people with dementia to a lovingly designed memory training session. In a relaxed atmosphere, the program combines playful exercises with social participation, personal encounters, and a strengthening community experience.

Under the motto Playful Memory Training – tickling the brain cells, memory trainer Andrea Braun from the Bürgerspital of the DRK designs a varied morning. Easy and motivating exercises stimulate attention, memory, and joy in doing things together. The focus is not on performance or competition, but on well-being, encouragement, and respectful interaction.

A senior-friendly morning for people with dementia

The program is aimed at people with dementia and creates a protected environment for social contacts. Familiar processes, personal addresses, and playful impulses support social participation and provide valuable relief for family members. At the same time, there is an offer for relatives: A feel-good time from everyday life with dementia – just for ME.

Barrier-free meeting place in the heart of Aalen

The Bürgerspital meeting place is a cross-generational facility for encounters, education, culture, and leisure activities. The entrance is barrier-free, and an elevator is available. Some event rooms have door widths of 80 centimeters. The bus stop ZOB and nearby parking options facilitate arrival.

Joint lunch afterwards

After the memory training, there is the opportunity to have a joint lunch in a small group from 12 to 1 PM. The lunch costs 7.50 euros and includes dessert and water.
