Frederick brings quiet magic to the Imperial City Advent

On December 19, 2026, the Theater of the City of Aalen invites families to a special theatrical moment at the Spritzenhausplatz. The play Frederick based on the picture book classic by Leo Lionni is aimed at the youngest audience from three years old and combines poetic images, fantasy, and a warm Advent atmosphere.

A field mouse with special treasures

Frederick does not collect grains like the other field mice. While everyone is gathering supplies for the winter, he preserves colors, sunbeams, and words. In the cold season, it becomes clear how valuable these invisible treasures are for community, courage, and hope.

Theatrical experience for the whole family

The production by the Theater of the City of Aalen engages children from three years old with clear images and an empathetic stage language. The event experience combines child-friendly theater, a wintry ambiance, and the special audience atmosphere of the Imperial City Advent.

Advent atmosphere in the open air

At the Spritzenhausplatz, theater, Christmas market atmosphere, and shared wonder come together. The short performance from 15:30 to 16:00 is suitable as a festive program point for families who want to experience Advent together in Aalen.

Organization and event planning

The event is organized by the Cultural and Press Office of the City of Aalen, Department of Culture. The event management includes the performance in the program of the Imperial City Advent 2026, thereby creating an open cultural moment for young visitors.

Conclusion: Frederick makes it clear that imagination, stories, and shared time are just as important as practical supplies. Families experience a poetic play with gentle tones and great emotional impact. Admission is free – a wonderful occasion to discover the Imperial City Advent live in Aalen.
