Ulrich Brauchle: Visible – Art between Line, Surface, and Landscape

The exhibition Visible at the Ostalbkreis District Office in Aalen is dedicated to the work of the Ellwangen artist Ulrich Brauchle. From October 8 to December 31, 2026, pencil drawings, oil paintings, and oil pastel works come together, offering a concentrated view of the subtle transitions between abstraction and figuration.

When lines begin to speak

Brauchle's works unfold their effect in quiet encounters. Figurative motifs and landscapes emerge, while lines, surfaces, and image carriers are shaped and worked in a dynamic interplay. What initially appears clear and visible develops a complex visual language upon longer contemplation.

Painting with rhythm and inner movement

The exhibition connects new painting and drawing. Pencil, oil, and oil pastel create different surfaces, tonal values, and spatial tensions. In the composition, a shift between density and calm, between precise drawing and painterly openness emerges. Brauchle's artistic approach consciously navigates the narrow path between figuration and abstraction.

Artistic intelligence instead of artificial routine

The works do not invite hasty passing by. They demand focused viewing and reward this gaze with ever-new relationships between form, color, and surface. The exhibition thus deliberately makes a statement for the immediate experience of art: individual, physical, and open to personal interpretations.

Opening and musical setting

The exhibition will be opened on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at 7:00 PM by District Administrator Dr. Joachim Bläse. Following this, Ulrich Brauchle will personally introduce his exhibition. The musical setting is provided by Ulrich Brauchle and Norbert Botschek. Artist tours with Ulrich Brauchle will take place on Thursday, November 19, and Thursday, December 10, 2026, each at 5:30 PM.
