Ulrich Brauchle – Illustrative: Art between Line, Surface and Reality
The exhibition Ulrich Brauchle – Illustrative invites you at the Ostalbkreis district office in Aalen to a focused encounter with contemporary painting and drawing. It features pencil drawings, oil paintings, and oil pastels by the artist from Ellwangen.
Between Abstraction and Representationalism
Ulrich Brauchle's works navigate the fine line between abstraction and representationalism. Figurative motifs meet landscape elements, while lines and surfaces organize, condense, and continuously open up the pictorial space. What appears clear and illustrative at first glance develops a multifaceted visual language upon prolonged viewing.
New Painting with Its Own Visual Logic
The exhibition combines new painting and drawing into a quiet yet demanding concert experience for the eyes. Pencil, oil, and oil pastel create different surfaces, tonal values, and tensions. The pictorial substrate is worked on, shaped, and used as an independent component of the composition. Lines gain rhythm, surfaces begin to speak.
Experience Art Mindfully
Illustrative does not demand hasty progress, but rather conscious seeing. In the calm atmosphere of the district office, space is created for the fine transitions between object and dissolution, stillness and movement, intuition and conscious design. The works unfold their impact through light, materiality, composition, and the personal perception of visitors.
A Visit in Aalen
The exhibition can be seen until December 31, 2026, at the Ostalbkreis district office. Regular opening hours on Wednesday are from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Additionally, artist-led tours with Ulrich Brauchle will take place on November 19 and December 10, 2026, each at 5:30 PM.
Conclusion
Ulrich Brauchle – Illustrative offers an intense art experience for all who wish to not only observe drawing and painting but also decipher it. Those who engage with lines, surfaces, and the quiet tension between abstraction and reality will discover an exhibition in Aalen with lasting visual impact.
