Ulrich Brauchle – Illustrative: Between Line, Surface and Landscape

The exhibition Ulrich Brauchle – Illustrative invites you to a focused encounter with new painting and drawing at the District Office of Ostalbkreis in Aalen. The artist from Ellwangen navigates the narrow line between abstraction and representation.

When Lines Begin to Speak

Pencil drawings, oil paintings, and oil pastel works form the core of the exhibition. Figurative motifs encounter landscapes, while lines and surfaces shape the canvas in a carefully calibrated interplay. The works appear clear and immediate at first glance, but reveal their complexity with longer, concentrated viewing.

Between Abstraction and Representation

Ulrich Brauchle's visual language connects recognizable forms with open painterly structures. The compositions invite viewers to see familiar motifs anew and to explore the boundaries between object, memory, and free form. Thus, a calm, intense exhibition experience emerges that decelerates the gaze.

Opening with Music and Artist Talk

The exhibition was inaugurated on October 8, 2026, by District Administrator Dr. Joachim Bläse. Subsequently, Ulrich Brauchle introduced his works; the musical accompaniment was provided by Ulrich Brauchle and Norbert Botschek. During the exhibition period, there will also be artist-led tours with Ulrich Brauchle on November 19 and December 10, 2026, each at 5:30 PM.
