Ulrich Brauchle: Illustrative – Painting and Drawing in Aalen

With the exhibition Illustrative, the Ellwangen artist Ulrich Brauchle presents a focused selection of his paintings and drawings at the Ostalbkreis District Office. The exhibition invites you to perceive landscape, color, and line anew – between figurative inspiration and wide-open, abstract picture space.

Landscape as a Starting Point

Ulrich Brauchle's artistic work often begins with the landscape. From observations of nature and surroundings, he develops images in which familiar motifs gradually transform into independent color and form worlds. Oil painting, drawing, and graphic techniques engage in a dynamic dialogue.

Color, Line, and Controlled Chance

In Brauchle's painting, impulsively placed color areas meet carefully explored lines. Overpainting, erasure, and removal are all part of the working process, along with the deliberate steering of chance. This creates compositions that are simultaneously open, sensual, and structurally precise.

Poetic Picture Spaces with Musical Rhythm

The works unfold their effect not through loud effects, but through layering, rhythm, and subtle changes in the image structure. Color sounds, contrasts, and spaces create a visual dynamism reminiscent of musical orchestration. Viewers experience a quiet, concentrated form of tension.

An Artist with a Broad Exhibition Horizon

Ulrich Brauchle studied at the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart as well as history, art history, and theology at the University of Tübingen. For his work, he received, among others, the Art Prize of the Art Association Heidenheim and the Felix Hollenberg Prize for Printmaking. His works have been displayed in galleries, art associations, and museums in Southern Germany.

Conclusion: Discover Art in Peace

Illustrative promises an exhibition for everyone who wants not just to observe painting, but to sense its creation and effect. The visit to the Ostalbkreis District Office opens direct access to Brauchle's poetic picture spaces – free of charge and right in the heart of Aalen.
