Ulrich Brauchle: Illustrative – Painting and Drawing at the District Office Ostalbkreis
The exhibition Illustrative by the Ellwanger artist Ulrich Brauchle invites visitors at the District Office Ostalbkreis in Aalen to a focused encounter with new painting and drawing. From October 8 to December 31, 2026, the exhibition shows pencil drawings, oil paintings, and oil pastel works between abstraction and representational art.
Between Line, Surface, and Visible Reality
Ulrich Brauchle's works walk a fine line: figurative motifs meet landscapes, clear forms open up to ambiguous pictorial spaces. Lines and surfaces become autonomous design elements, while the picture carrier itself appears visibly shaped and processed.
An Iconography for Focused Viewing
The exhibition emphasizes a calm, intense perception. What initially seems simple and illustrative develops a complex internal order upon closer examination. Brauchle replaces technical visual worlds with artistic intelligence and creates works that mediate between representationality, abstraction, and visual resonance.
Opening with Musical Accompaniment
The exhibition was opened on October 8, 2026, by District Administrator Dr. Joachim Bläse. Then Ulrich Brauchle introduced his works. The musical accompaniment was provided by Ulrich Brauchle and Norbert Botschek. During the exhibition period, artist-guided tours are also scheduled for November 19 and December 10, 2026, each at 5:30 PM.
Opening Hours and Visit
The District Office Ostalbkreis opens the exhibition Mondays to Wednesdays from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Thursdays from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Fridays from 8:00 AM to 12:15 PM. Admission is free. On October 15, 2026, the exhibition can be visited during the regular Thursday opening hours.
Conclusion: Art that Unfolds Its Space Only When Seen
Illustrative offers a quiet, yet demanding art experience for all who wish to explore painting and drawing beyond quick effects. Those who take the time for lines, surfaces, landscape, and figure will experience an exhibition at the District Office Ostalbkreis with lasting visual impact.
