Ulrich Brauchle: Illustrative – Painting and Drawing in Aalen

At the Ostalbkreis district office, the exhibition Illustrative opens, featuring works by Ellwangen artist Ulrich Brauchle. New pencil drawings, oil paintings, and oil pastel paintings are on display, oscillating between abstraction and representation, inviting concentrated viewing.

Between Line, Plane, and Figure

Ulrich Brauchle's works unfold their impact from the interplay of line and plane. Figurative motifs encounter landscape picture spaces, while the medium itself becomes an active part of the composition. The works appear immediate and illustrative; however, with closer inspection, they develop a multifaceted visual language.

Painting with Quiet Tension

Pencil, oil, and oil pastel create different surfaces and tonalities. Delicate drawing traces meet dense color fields, open forms collide with recognizable motifs. This tension produces a visual world that mediates between representation and abstraction, continuously refocusing the gaze.

Opening and Musical Framing

The exhibition was inaugurated on October 8, 2026, by District Administrator Dr. Joachim Bläse. Following this, Ulrich Brauchle introduced his artistic work. Music was provided by Ulrich Brauchle and Norbert Botschek. Additionally, artist-led tours with Ulrich Brauchle are scheduled for November 19 and December 10, 2026, each at 5:30 PM, for a deeper encounter with the artworks.
