Black/White – Views of a City: Aalen in Photographic Perspectives
On November 6, 2026, the exhibition Black/White – Views of a City will open at the Konrad Cafe Bar in Aalen. The presentation organized by Stefanie Winter focuses on the urban landscape and invites viewers to perceive familiar urban spaces from a concentrated perspective.
Between Light and Shadow
Black-and-white photography reduces visual reality to contrasts, contours, and shades of gray. Facades, street spaces, and architectural structures thus emerge more prominently. Light becomes a pictorial substance, shadows create depth and direct the viewer's attention to details that are easily overlooked in everyday passing.
The City as a Photographic Motif
Views of the city tell stories of movement, change, and memory. In the aesthetic experience of the exhibition, the documentary gaze meets artistic perception. The photographic perspective makes visible how forms, buildings, and urban situations shape the collective image of a city.
An Art Experience at Konrad Cafe Bar
The exhibition combines cultural education with an accessible encounter in public life. In the unique exhibition atmosphere of Konrad Cafe Bar, space is created for slow contemplation, personal associations, and conversations about photography, architecture, and Aalen. The interplay of light and dark gives the views a concentrated, timeless effect.
Conclusion
Black/White – Views of a City offers an atmospheric look at Aalen and shows how strongly urban reality can change through photographic design. Art enthusiasts experience an exhibition that encourages keen observation and presents familiar city images in a new light. The visit on the opening night offers an inspiring aesthetic experience right in the heart of Aalen.
