Black/White – Views of a City: Aalen in a Focused View
On October 30, 2026, the exhibition Black/White – Views of a City will open at the KONRAD Café & Bar in Aalen. The presentation focuses on urban spaces, familiar cityscapes, and the unique expressiveness of photographic black-and-white aesthetics.
Between Light, Shadow, and Urban Space
Black-and-white photography reduces the visual world to contrasts, shades of gray, and precise compositions. Facades, street spaces, and architectural details thereby acquire a timeless quality. Light becomes a shaping force, shadows structure the image surface, while lines, surfaces, and perspectives unveil new views of Aalen.
An Exhibition in an Urban Cultural Venue
The KONRAD Café & Bar combines café, bar, concept store, and cultural events in the heart of Aalen. The exhibition thus takes place in an open, everyday environment that connects encounter and artwork observation. Amidst coffee, drinks, and urban atmosphere, an immediate art experience emerges that sharpens the view of one’s own city.
Aesthetic Experience and Cultural Education
The exhibition invites visitors to perceive familiar places with new attention. Black-and-white images focus perception on form, spatial effect, materiality, and light. In this way, the city is not only documented but experienced as a visual fabric – as a mutable living space between history, present, and personal memory.
Conclusion: Seeing Aalen Anew
Black/White – Views of a City promises a concentrated observation of urban motifs and an inspiring aesthetic experience. Those who wish to experience Aalen from a different perspective should visit the exhibition live at the opening and discover the dialogue between photography, urban space, and cultural encounter.
