Aalen in Black and White: City Views Between Light and Shadow
The exhibition Black/White – Views of a City invites you to discover Aalen anew with a sharpened perspective. In his photographs, Dr. Alexander Hoch presents quiet alleys, distinctive roofs, and special light and shadow moods. The opening connects documentary city observation with a concentrated aesthetic experience.
Familiar Places, Seen Anew
The photographic works focus on motifs that one often passes by in everyday life. Architecture, street spaces, and urban details appear in a reduced visual language that makes contrasts, contours, and spatial depth visible. Black and white serve not only as technical design tools but also as an art-historically familiar form of expression in photography.
Photography as a Work Observation of the City
Dr. Alexander Hoch develops a visual study of Aalen from everyday views. The exhibition shows how careful observing reveals the character of a city: roofs become graphic surfaces, alleys turn into quiet stages, and changes in light become structuring image elements. The artistic experience arises from the interplay between documentary closeness and abstract formal impact.
Opening at Konrad Cafe Bar
The opening will take place on October 15, 2026, at 7:00 PM at the Konrad Cafe Bar. The exhibition will be on view until November 15, 2026. The unusual exhibition venue creates an open, urban atmosphere and combines cultural education with an easily accessible approach to contemporary photography.
