Black and White: A City in Focus
The exhibition Black/White – Views of a City invites you to the Konrad Cafe Bar in Aalen on October 24, 2026. The focus is on the photographic exploration of urban spaces: architecture, streets, facades, and familiar cityscapes are reduced to contrasts, lines, and light.
Between Light and Shadow
The restriction to black and white shifts the focus of the works from decorative colorfulness to structure, atmosphere, and composition. Bright areas contrast with deep shadows, geometric forms meet the organic traces of everyday life. This creates a visual drama, in which Aalen appears both documentary and alienated.
The City as a Photographic Motif
City photography offers a special access to urban perception. Buildings become bodies in space, streets become image axes, windows and facades become rhythmic ordering systems. The exhibition encourages a new seeing of familiar places and invites viewers to observe their surroundings with sharpened aesthetic attention.
Art Experience in a Unique Atmosphere
The presentation in the Konrad Cafe Bar combines the experience of the exhibition with public urban space. Between photographic precision, graphic abstraction, and atmospheric condensation, an immediate access to Aalen's visual culture is created. Black-and-white photography not only makes visible but also calls for conscious deceleration and a concentrated aesthetic experience.
Conclusion
Black/White – Views of a City promises an engaging encounter with Aalen from unusual perspectives. Art enthusiasts, photography lovers, and anyone wanting to rediscover their city will experience an exhibition about perception, spatial effect, and the poetic power of urban images. A visit opens the view of the familiar with new clarity.
